How often do you rotate your pet's diet?
Contrary to common beliefs, rotational feeding has many benefits:
- Keep your pet interested in the food. Nobody wants to eat the same thing day after day, our pets get bored and tired with eating same thing. Unless your dog or cat has a very sensitive stomach or allergies and requires a steady diet, feel free to switch it up!
- Rotating proteins can help prevent food allergies. Feeding same ingredients for extended period can result in food allergies, especially to proteins like chicken or beef. We recommend staying within the same brand/type but rotating the flavors. For example if you're feeding Fromm 4 star, switch between the 6-7 flavors they offer.
- It helps to add other flavors in case there is ever a food recall. That way you know that you have a food you can fall back on if anything happens.
If you pet is unable to switch flavors, consider adding healthy toppers. We have some great options available including:
- Freeze dried food
- Dehydrated food
- Raw Goats Milk
- Bone Broth
- Liquid Stock
- Canned Food
