With so many people hitting the trails, it's important to be mindful of park etiquette, such as asking permission before approaching another dog. You may encounter some dogs who have not been properly trained or socialized while you are out walking your dog. It's a good idea to be mindful while utilizing tools that will help you make walks more enjoyable.

We recommend few essentials that not only will help to brush up on training skills, but also keep you safe on your walks.

Here's our go to list of training supplies:

  • Training Treats- We have a great selection of high value training treats such as Plato small bites, Bocce's bakery, pure bites freeze dried and much more
  • No Pull Harness- great tool to help you train your dog to walk calmly on the leash, we recommend Freedom or Easy Walk harnesses. Come in to a store so we can help you with finding the right fit for your dog.
  • Clicker- training with a clicker is very easy and fun. Coupled with training treats, its a great way to get your dog started with basic obedience as well as reinforce existing positive behavior.
  • Pet Corrector- This is something we recommend not only for training at home, but bringing with you on walks to deter being approached by loose dogs . Pet corrector is harmless to the dog and contains pressurized air that lets out a loud hissing sound. This sound startles the dog and helps to break up unwanted behavior such as jumping or barking. For additional safety, we also recommend Petsafe citronella spray which is a stronger deterrent against off leash dogs.
